Introduction to Lush

Hi Beauties!

It's weekend! Time to relax and rest, sleep (and to study if you have to).  I've had a very busy week, lots of exams and work.. but also a really good weather! It's almost summer, just 5 more weeks of class and then I'll be free, have time to do anything I want (even blogging more!)

Today I want to do a review about Jumping Juniper a Lush shampoo that I bought last week, and I've been using since then.

LUSH

Lush is a cosmetics company, founded un 1995. Lush produces and sells a large variety of handmade products like soaps, shampoos, hair conditioners, face masks... and everything you need.

Lush uses fruit, vegetables, honey, essential oils in their products. They don't use animals fats and they are against animal test, they are in favor of cruelty free.

Personally I love this company not only for their products (which I'm going to talk now), but also for their politics about the type of products they use and the cruelty free.

How did I know about Lush?

A friend of mine talked to me about Lush. She loves hair products and I trust her opinions. She was delighted with Lush, so I decided to try it.

Lush produces handmade cosmetics with natural components, this distinction amongst the other cosmetics companys has a cost.

So.. let's start with the review...

Jumping Juniper

All the shampoos bars are silicon free, and they last between 80-100 washes, they are equivalent to three shampoo bottles. That avoids 5.700.000 bottles of  plastic every year, 484 tonnes of CO2.

They dont' have any preservatives and you can use them for two and a half years.

This shampoo contains Juniperberry Oil (star ingredient): Juniper berry oil is extracted from the fresh ripe berries of this shrub by stim distillation.

My first experience with shampoo bars. I've always been sceptic when trying new things, and I wasn't very sure if it would work but it did.

How to use?

Rub the bar between your hands with wather, work yhe lather gently and thoroughle into wet hair, then rinse away. One light lather is enough.

I went to Lush with a very clear idea: to get a shampoo bar. Thought I wasn't very sure about its future results, I needed a change for my hair. The shop assistant was very nice and he explained everything I wanted to know about the products. I first though of buying the oceanic, but the shop assistant suggested me the Jumping Jack due to my oily hair.

Results

When you are using the shampoo for the first time you notice that is very different than the normal shampoos.  The shampoo makes a lot of lather and you is not needed a lot of product. But the lather is also different, is not so abundant but enough to clean your hair.

Also your hair doesn't seem as straight and clean as with other shampoos.
This is due to the components of the shampoo, but it doesn't affect to the results.

You'll get a soft hair, and the most important looks healthy!

Important!: Some people say that solid shampoos are extremely drying, that's because of the components of the shampoo, that are very different from the ones that our hair is used to. So, it's always recommended to use as well a hair conditioner (in my case, American Cream, I'll also write a post about it, not now because it would be very long! ).

I use it two/three times a week, with the Lush conditioner, and I combined with another shampoo.

You can use it every day if you want, but it's better to start just some times a week to see how does it affect to your hair.

Do you use Lush products? Do you like them? What's your opinion?

See you soon, and have a nice weekend :)

Lemon balm Qualities

How are you? Are you having a good weekend?

Today I went shopping! I really needed buy some things, but what I wanted to do was to go to Lush!
I'm sure you've heard of Lush, they sell fresh handmade cosmetics. I bought a shampoo bar and a conditioner, the famous American Cream. I'll write a post soon about it!

But today I want to write about lemon balm, everyone knows what is lemon balm, but what no so many people now is all the qualities that an infusion of lemon balm has and how to make the most of it.

-It's anti stress: If you are stressed and you need to calm down lemon balm can appease you and recover your tranquility.

-Insomnia:When you're having a sleepless night,  if you drink lemon balm, it relaxes you and induces sleep. You can also drink one half an hour before going to bed. Better if you combine it with valerian.

-Heavy digestion: Lemon balm infusion after a meal eases digestion. It's a big help after you've had a big meal and you need to settle the stomach.

-For mosquitos: Crushing lemon balm leaves, and then rubbing them on the skin is a very good repellant for mosquitos.

-Blood pressure: Can relax blood vessels, therefore is strongly recommended for lowering blood pressure

Lemon balm is amazing for the hair. My brother has dermatitis and dandruff, so before he has a shower he boils some lemon balm leaves (you can also use infusions if you want) and after washing his hair he uses it.
Now he doesn't have hardly any dandruff. Although his scalp tents to be irritated, the lemon balm has been really beneficial for him.

There are also "external" uses of lemon balm:

-Insects stings: In case of stings of mosquitos, bees, ants or other insects apply the juice of a leaf on the sting site.

-Halitosis: If you suffer from halitosis,  the best for get rid of it is chewing a fresh lemon balm leaf.

-Face care: Lemon balm is used for the confection of creams for the face, specially for oily skins. The dry plant can be used for the confection of masks.

Do you normally use lemon balm for any of this things? Do you know any other use?

Hope you all have a nice weekend :)

Cattier Paris Organic Clay Mask

Hi beauties!!!

Today I want to talk about Cattier Paris. It's a cosmetic company, but what makes it different is that their cosmetics are organic. For me that's a big plus, because I particularly like natural things.

I have tried lots and lots of facial masks, because my skin is oily, so needs to be cleaned quite often.
My last facial mask was a complete disaster, it was also a Clay Mask, from a local store, so I was convinced not to use clay masks for a while.

But I saw that this mask was rated first on beaute-test.com (French magazine), and therefore I decided to give it a chance and try it, and I don't regret it.

The facial mask that I use is the normal clay mask. There is another for sensitive skin, which is pink instead of grey. I don't have it, but a friend of mine does. I tried it to notice if there is any difference. It has the same results and effects, but it is definitely better if you have sensitive skin, because is smoother, and it prevents any irritation that the normal one could cause.

The texture is fine, is easy to spread and once it's on your face it dries very quickly. Before you let it dry, it is better to massage softly in circles.
If you do it, it'll more effective!

The touch of your skin after the mask is just delightful, it like baby skin. It is also very refreshing (something that I haven't found in other masks).

The ideal thing is to use it one or twice a week.  The downside that there is, is how to find it. In Europe in not very difficult, you can easily find Cattier Paris products in some stores, the other option is to buy it online, but it you just want to buy one thing it's not very worth it.

In conclusion, I think it's a very good facial mask, not the perfect mask obviously, but in terms of quality-price ratio is more than satisfying. It costs about 5 euros, like 6 dollars more or less. And it really lasts, you don't need to use a lot of product each time.

Do you think that it's a good facial mask? Would you try it? Tell me!

And I hope you've liked my first post :)

English Version

Hi All!

This blog, is written in english but also in Spanish.

First of all I'd like to explain all about the language why is it in english? Why also in Spanish?
Well.. there are some reasons.. first, I'd like my blog to arrange the widest amount of people and everyone knows that nowadays english is the 'Global Language'.

I'd also like to improve my english, and as you may have already noticed I'm not english and I have a lot to learn and improve. Now that we are hear I would like to apologize for my mistakes which can be sometimes a little bit funny, you'll noticed.

Like I've said in the Spanish version, I think this could be useful for you too (more for spanish people than for english). If you nome some Spanish or you are learning it you could try to read some blog posts in Spanish, or you could as well read it first in English and then in Spanish (it's normally easier when you know what the blog post is about)

The Spanish version is the link on the right: Mi rincón chic.

So..  to finish, welcome to my blog! I hope that this blog will end up being your blog, a place where you can feel comfortable and find some useful things.

*A todos los que hablan español, esta es la versión inglesa de mi blog. Hay también la versión española. Es exactamente lo mismo.. así que ¡id a echar un vistazo! (Es el link que tenéis a la derecha: My rincón chic)
